I am a clinical psychologist in private practice serving adults in the Columbus area. My work is grounded in careful assessment, thoughtful conversation, and practical strategies for change. I aim to provide a setting that is steady, respectful, and intellectually honest — a place where difficulties can be understood clearly and addressed directly.
I provide individual psychotherapy for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, personality-related patterns, and stress associated with professional, medical, or life transitions.
My treatment approach is primarily behavioral and cognitive-behavioral, informed by additional training in dialectical behavior therapy and acceptance-based approaches. Therapy is collaborative and structured, with attention to observable progress over time.
I believe effective therapy combines clarity and compassion: understanding patterns precisely while working steadily toward meaningful change.
In addition to psychotherapy, I conduct structured psychological evaluations for diagnostic clarification (adult ADHD for example) and in forensic contexts. When functioning in an evaluative role, I cannot be the therapist. My evaluations are time-limited, free-standing, and efficiently designed to address particular questions. I began teaching assessment coursework at the graduate level in 1998, and I continue to teach college level courses related to this area of my practice expertise.
